Meet Katelynn.
Kate is great. It rhymes but I mean it, She is one of the most well rounded people I have ever met. Not only is she so obviously beautiful, she is equally so on the inside. Kate is service oriented, kind hearted, loving, and admirable. Here’s a little piece of this soon-to-be High School grad..
Do you believe one person is capable of changing the world?
Yes. But I don’t think a lot of people know they can so not very many people actually do. I’ve found that people often lack faith in themselves to be able to do great things. When they find that faith they realize how important their soul really is to this world.
What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned so far in life?
This past summer I was able to take a humanitarian trip to Cambodia, it was there that I learned my greatest life lesson…people are what will bring you the most happiness in life. While I was in Cambodia I was able to meet so many different people who had been through incredibly hard things. I found that I was able to learn something from all of them, and as I focused entirely on them and forgot myself, I fell in love with all those people. Caring about others is what will make you most happy in life, I promise.
Who is your hero? Why?
I have found that for some strange reason I tend to look up to men more than women! My grandfather and my father are both my heros. Both of these men have experienced great trials in their lives but despite all that poo… they both continually worry about others. My grandfather has shown me how to view the world differently and appreciate the small things life gives us. My father showed me that even while you are suffering, you are still able to fill your heart with love for the people around you. I love these two men, I’m a lucky girl.
Who was your favorite teacher? Why?
Jesus Christ is my favorite teacher. I think it’s the coolest thing that the man who died for me and went through everything that I’m going through, is the one who continues today to help me through all my trials. He went through unexplainable pain just for me and still he continues to teach and guide me. Unlike some teachers he will never give up on me. When I lose faith in myself he will be the one who constantly believes in me. He is the perfect example and the perfect teacher. I love my Savior so much.
What makes you, you?
I would never be who I am today without the gospel and the amazing people I have in my life. What makes me, me are the experiences I have had in the LDS chruch and with the people who I have met along the way. Especially my mother. My mom is such a big part of me. She inspires me, teaches me, laughs with me, and will forever be my best friend. I hope one day I can become half the woman she is. It is the example of people like my mother who push me to want to be a better me.
That’s my girl! Crazy how one person can have such an impact on your life. She is my hero. Not sure she really even knows that! Thank you for choosing her!
Beautiful Kate. You are beautiful inside and out and I am so happy and honored to know you.
